Principals Bios

Jill Roussy

Jill Roussy
Principal

Jill’s passion and expertise lies in discovering how consumer thinking impacts business. An accomplished qualitative researcher and creative problem solver, Jill delights in building creative research and analytical approaches that uncover insights to drive positive business results.

Jill holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Before co-founding Spark in 2003, she held progressively senior roles in Canada and Europe with American Express, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Bell Canada, and Mackenzie Financial. Jill earned her Advanced Moderator designation having facilitated hundreds of qualitative exploratories and is a Certified Facilitator of the LEGO™ SERIOUS PLAY™ Method. Jill is a supporter of and volunteer at The Stop Community Food Centre. In her spare time she is active in sports and loves to cook and travel with her family.

Wendy Shaw

Wendy Shaw
Principal

Wendy enjoys finding creative solutions to the unique marketing and business challenges facing Spark clients. From leading focus groups to running creative workshops to participating in working sessions, Wendy loves being hands-on with every project.

Wendy holds an Honours BA in Economics from Queen’s University. After beginning her career as an Economist, Wendy found that marketing was a way to combine her quantitative and analytical skills with creativity and strategic thinking in a business environment. She moved through the ranks at Bank of Montreal, American Express, Manulife, and Bell Canada before co-founding Spark. Wendy is presently the Co-Chair of the Canada Chapter of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association. When she is not busy problem solving, she can be found running, travelling, or visiting an art gallery with her family.
